The answers are quite illuminating! These are all people who use social media regularly for both work and play. Some of the results: several people agreed with me that Facebook is in trouble, and we all worried that Twitter’s new policies will make it far less useful for us. We also discussed Google Plus, boutique social networks, Ning, BuddyPress, Spotify and New MySpace. We took a ride in the wayback machine to see Yahoo Groups and Voy. Scary for Pinterest: we almost forgot them!

Here’s what inspired me to ask the question what bores and excites people about social networks:

I get interested and bored with various networks in spurts, often having to do w/ other ppl’s activity…. #AskAngelAngelique
… actually, when I think about it, it’s ALWAYS to do with other’s activity! #AskAngelAngelique
It also has to do with effective communication. #AskAngelAngelique
The less effective FB biz is to talk to ppl as my page, the less I want to use it. #AskAngelAngelique

Hiya! Quick question that’s completely off topic. Do you know how to make your site mobile friendly? My site looks weird when browsing from my iphone. I’m trying
to find a theme or plugin that might be able
to correct this problem. If you have any recommendations,
please share. Appreciate it!

What about your site looks weird on your iPhone? You can either create a special mobile version of your website, or you can make sure that the layout of your website is responsive to changes is browser resolutions and levels of zoom. As far as I know from viewing my website on many phones, my website is easy to read and use on all of them. I use the Thesis theme for Wordpress (http://diythemes.com). I have just two columns, they are relatively narrow, and I don’t have any kind of pop-ups.

I really dislike the “mobile versions” of my site created by plugins I’ve tried. If I needed something like that, I’d hire a programmer.

My developer is trying to convince me to move to .
net from PHP. I have always disliked the idea because of the expenses.
But he’s tryiong none the less. I’ve been using Movable-type on numerous websites for about a year and am concerned about switching to another
platform. I have heard good things about blogengine.
net. Is there a way I can transfer all my wordpress content into it?
Any kind of help would be really appreciated!
