Are you one of the many business owners who think that social networking is — or should be — directly related to profits? Have you been demanding that consultants tell you the dollar amount of your “return on investment”? Are you disappointed because you’ve been paying an employee to manage your social network presence and you haven’t seen in increase in your bottom line?

The truth is that for many businesses, a presence on various social networks, and/or a new-style blogsite, are not projects that attract new cash; they are necessary expenses of doing business in the year 2010.

For many businesses today, participating on social networks and monitoring what people are saying about your company are vital. If you don’t do them, you will lose money because you will be attempting to advertise and communicate with customers in ways that don’t work anymore.

You need to be where your customers eyeballs are. You need to send them information in the manner that they prefer, and allow them to reach you in the same way. Whether they have a question, suggestion or complaint, you need to meet them where they live on line and allow them to ask that question, make the suggestion or log that complaint in the manner that is most convenient to them. If you are not there to talk to them, someone else will be.

Need to learn how to use the major social networks? Need to establish a social network presence for your product or service? I can help you! Contact me at info@afmarcom.com or 602.735.3107.
